A rapidly growing franchise organization operating a diverse portfolio of more than 1,100 locations across 29 states is seeking an experienced legal professional to support continued expansion. The company is a recognized leader in the hospitality and multi-unit retail sectors and is actively scaling through strategic acquisitions and operational excellence initiatives.

Position Overview
The Corporate Business Attorney will act as a strategic legal partner, providing practical, business-focused counsel across a large, multi-entity, franchise-driven portfolio.

This role advises executive leadership and field operations on commercial matters, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and contract management. The successful candidate can balance strong legal analysis with operational practicality and performs effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Experience in franchise law, mergers and acquisitions, or transactional law is strongly preferred. The position requires confidence, adaptability, and the ability to operate independently.

Key Responsibilities:
The Corporate Business Attorney will provide legal guidance across a broad range of corporate and operational matters, including:
Contract Management:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and real estate contracts.
Corporate Governance:
  • Oversee entity formation, filings, and maintenance across Texas and other jurisdictions.
Franchise Relations:
  • Provide guidance on franchise matters and ensure compliance with franchise agreements and disclosure obligations.
Strategic Partnership:
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, HR, Finance, Real Estate, Marketing, IT, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate risk and support sound business decisions.
Compliance & Risk:
  • Develop, interpret, and enforce company policies while managing legal exposure across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Dispute Resolution:
  • Assist with dispute management, regulatory matters, and coordination with outside counsel when necessary.

Requirements:
Education:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Licensure:
  • Active license and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of legal experience in business, corporate, or transactional law.
Industry Knowledge:
  • Experience supporting multi-entity organizations, franchising, hospitality, or retail environments strongly preferred.
  • Tax exposure is a plus.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills.
Communication:
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical business guidance.
Adaptability:
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth and operationally complex organization.
