The team is seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Manager to join the corporate office and provide strategic oversight of tangible assets across the enterprise.
Position Overview
The Fixed Asset Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of company assets — from acquisition and capitalization through tracking, depreciation, and retirement. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance while helping leadership maximize asset utilization and reporting reliability.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, detailed analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to ensure accuracy and operational alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Lifecycle Management:
- Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger across all locations.
- Record acquisitions, transfers, and disposals in the accounting system.
- Track assets including kitchen equipment, furniture, technology hardware, and leasehold improvements.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accounting aligns with GAAP standards.
- Prepare monthly depreciation schedules and reconciliation reports.
- Produce asset roll-forward reporting for the general ledger.
Capital Project Tracking:
- Partner with development and operations teams to monitor capital expenditures.
- Track project costs and ensure proper capitalization upon completion.
Policy & Procedure:
- Develop and implement standardized fixed-asset procedures across locations.
- Improve efficiency and internal controls.
Physical Audits:
- Coordinate periodic physical inventories and audits.
- Verify existence, condition, and accuracy of asset records.
System Administration:
- Act as administrator for fixed-asset management software.
- Maintain data integrity and support user training.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with procurement, IT, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure proper asset tracking from purchase through retirement.
Tax & Insurance Support:
- Provide documentation supporting property tax filings and insurance renewals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or similar certification preferred.
- 5–7 years progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 3 years managing fixed assets directly.
- Restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of GAAP related to depreciation and capitalization.
- Experience with ERP and asset software (Sage FAS, BNA Fixed Assets, Oracle Fixed Assets, or similar).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
